I installed this thermal camera from Robofinity on my Tesla Cybertruck and have been running it regularly during night driving. The install was clean and straightforward, and once powered up the camera performed immediately without calibration headaches. The thermal image itself is genuinely useful — clear contrast between vehicles, pedestrians, animals, and background heat, even in complete darkness where headlights and standard cameras are ineffective.

From a performance standpoint, the refresh rate is smooth enough to trust at speed, with no noticeable lag or ghosting when objects move across the field of view. I’ve tested it in cold temperatures, rain, and fog, and the image quality has remained consistent without freezing, fogging, or signal drops. I did try the HUD mode as well, but on the Cybertruck the windshield angle is so steep that it’s hard to get a clean, readable reflection, so it wasn’t a great experience in this specific vehicle.

One thing worth calling out is the support experience, which has been excellent. Any questions I had were answered quickly and clearly, and it genuinely felt like I was talking to people who understand both the product and real-world vehicle installs. Overall, this has proven to be a practical safety upgrade rather than a gimmick. On dark roads, it extends situational awareness well beyond headlight range and complements the Cybertruck’s existing camera system nicely.

I plan on contrinue testing but so far this unit has exceeded all expectations.

    Hey @Robofinity

Here are some photos, as you can see the wheather is not cooperating but hopefully this gives everyone an idea of placement. The front mount bracket is a 3d printed bracket.

Could you take a photo showing the effect of the whole vehicle? I'd like to see its appearance and see how stunning it looks when installed on your Cybertruck. Also, how should the screen be mounted? Could you show some pictures?
